Our practice is recognised as a teaching practice. After becoming a doctor, a person who wishes to become a general practitioner has to spend three or more years in hospital and then one in a general practice to perfect their skills before going into practice on their own.
We usually have one doctor doing a year with us. Occasionally we have medical students on short attachment. Because of our role as a teaching practice you may find that some surgeries are recorded on videotape. These recordings are kept strictly confidential and are used for teaching doctors. Your consent will always be sought before this is done, so do tell the receptionist if you prefer not to be videoed.
