Routine Appointments

There are general surgeries each morning and afternoon between 8.00am and 6.00pm but exact times vary from day to day. We also offer Tuesday evening Consultations from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. Telephone appointments are also available if you feel you do not need to see the Doctor in person - please ask to speak to one of our Medical Secretaries to discuss booking. Most consultations can be booked 2-3 weeks in advance.

If you are unable to keep an appointment, please inform us to allow others to access that slot.

To make an appointment, you can contact the surgery by telephone or in person between 8.00am and 6.00pm every weekday. If the problem is not urgent, please try to give us as much notice as possible. You are registered with one doctor but you may see any doctor.

When in the surgery, if you have a confidential request, you can ask to speak to any member of staff away from open public areas.

As there is a surge in demand for the telephone on Monday mornings, please ring at another time if possible.

Urgent Appointments consultation

In addition, we run a book-on-the-day Emergency Surgery with a Duty Doctor for serious problems that can not wait.

You may be put on a telephone triage with the Duty Doctor to asscertain the nature of your concern. The time slot of these appointments may be limited due to being emergency consultations.

Home Visits

home_visits We are able to visit patients in their home when their condition makes it difficult to come to us. If you need the doctor to call please try to put in your request before 11.00am.

It helps if you can give the receptionist some idea of your problem. This information is strictly confidential and will help the doctor assess the urgency of your call.

Telephone Appointments

If you have a problem or query which can be resolved over the telephone, please contact the surgery and speak to one of our medical secretaries. They may ask you for medical details in order to help you with your request. If necessary they will book you a telephone appointment with a doctor.

Times to ring: 9.30am - 12noon

1pm - 2.30 pm

Medical secretaries are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as medical staff.

You may also have the opportunity of speaking with a nurse at various times throughout the day if you fell she can assist you with your problem.

Appointments

Some of our surgeries/appointments will be held at Waters Green Medical Centre you will be advised at the time of booking.

Parking

During this time the car park will be closed for all Staff. Parking for patients will be limited to St Gregory's Church and on the roadside (2 hour limit). The main car park will be reserved for disabled patients.

Temporary Residents

Please note that temporary residents should ideally attend their own GP or private clinic at Waters Green for Travel Vaccines. We are able to accept temporary residents on an emergency basis only.

Blood Results

Please be advised that we will only contact you with results if they are not normal.

Physiotherapy

Patients have to be referred by their GP for this Service for NHS treatment. Private appointments are available most days.

Patient Forum

On the back of new NHS regulations we are having to review our Patient Participation Group (PPG) format. An update will be on the web site shortly.

Ear syringing

Before asking about this please put olive oil in your ears for at least two weeks.
